Description
In this project you will collate and present the finest examples of your work via a considered and well presented website. You will motivate the theme of your website in one of two directions; progression to Year 3, or progression to employment.
A statement of intent is required for both outlets, informing course staff of aspirations and initial ideas within a higher level of academic study or your comprehension of contemporary industry practice and its multifaceted job roles.
You should have by now chosen an area of specialism in the field and be intent on highlighting your importance as a game artist.
You need to address issues surrounding the best presentation of your work, making use of formats suited to the Internet.
This project addresses the key areas of study as follows:
Studio Practice: You will have a series of workshops, seminars and lectures to influence and guide the presentation of your work. The focus here is on clear, strong design.
The statement of intent will encompass all aspects of your current work, and highlight areas of strength and weakness. There are many ways modern websites can be produced, simply and cheaply. These will also be discussed in taught sessions.
Progression portfolio must include a 30 sec showreel. These will be composed as a motion graphic, and must not be just a sequence of still images.
Business and Professional Skills: Business and Professional Skills are integrated with Project 3 (Advanced Games Studies & Research). All topics covered are relevant to studio practice and inform your creative and practical decision-making.
Contextual Studies: Contextual studies runs as a separate project (Advanced Games Studies & Research). throughout this unit. All topics covered are relevant to studio practice and inform your creative and practical decision-making.
Personal Development and Planning: You will keep an independent reflective journal or blog recording your own personal learning experience throughout this brief.
